Requirements

  • Minimum 4+ years of experience as a System Administrator with a strong focus on Linux administration.
  • Proven experience in configuring and managing firewall rules (iptables/firewalld).
  • In-depth knowledge of log analysis tools and system monitoring techniques.
  • Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible or Puppet (a plus).
  • Familiarity with virtualization platforms (Proxmox, VMware vSphere, KVM) preferred.
  • Solid understanding of storage technologies (RAID, SAN, NAS).
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking principles and protocols (BGP, subnetting, ACLs).
  • Experience with network troubleshooting tools (ss, netstat, traceroute, mtr).
  • Proficiency with scripting languages (Bash, Python) for automation tasks.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker) is a plus.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible) is a plus.
  • Experience with development languages like Go (Golang) is a plus.

Bonus skills

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
  • Experience with Kubernetes concepts and tools (kubectl, Helm) is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

Linux Servers

  • Configuration and management of Linux server environments.
  • Implementing firewall rules (iptables) for enhanced security.
  • Monitoring and analyzing logs and metrics for performance optimization and troubleshooting.
  • Managing kernel parameters, network interfaces, and DHCP servers for efficient network configuration.
  • Setting up user accounts and permissions to ensure secure access.
  • Configuring NTP for time synchronization and cron jobs for scheduled tasks.
  • Utilizing systemd for service management.

Virtualization

  • Configuring and managing the virtualization layer (e.g., VMware vSphere, KVM) for optimal resource utilization.
  • Implementing robust backup and recovery solutions for virtual machines.
    Leveraging management interfaces (ILO, IDRAC) for efficient hardware monitoring and control.

Storage Servers

  • Managing data storage including storing, backing up, restoring, and moving data efficiently and securely.
  • Setting up and configuring storage servers including OS installation, RAID configuration, cache optimization, and hardware specifications.
  • Managing partitions, file systems, and network file systems (NFS) for efficient storage utilization.

Networking

  • Configuration and management of network infrastructure including routers (BGP protocol), switches, and firewalls.
  • Implementing subnets, network ACLs, and routing protocols for optimal network segmentation and security.
  • Understanding of OSI Layers for troubleshooting network connectivity issues.
  • Managing load balancers and configuring DNS zones for high availability and traffic distribution.
